Ornament #8 of my 12 Days of Ornaments is here!!! Ribbonly hoop I thought was a touch of nostalgia meets old traditions. I am not sure why but it took me somewhere country and cozy...lol. Pretty minimal as supplies goes but would also be very cute all dressed up and glittered or blinged out.

Supplies
  • Embroidery hoop (smallest you can find)
  • 2 or more types/colors of ribbon
  • double sided tape (not completely necessary but it helps)
  • Scissors
  • Ornament hook
To start separate the outer hoop from the inner hoop. Then cut ribbon slightly longer than the width of the hoop, you rather go too long than too short. I used double sided tape to hold the ribbon in place before I was able to place the top hoop on at the end. Place ribbon about 1/2" apart depending on your embroidery hoop size. Going in the same direction place all your strips parallel to each other.

Then change directions and weave the horizontal pieces up and over the ribbon that is already in place. Don't worry if the ribbon isn't completely taut. Once you place the top hoop on you will be able to make it more snug.

Once all of the ribbon pieces have been woven place the top hoop and tighten.

Flip over the hoop and trim any excess ribbon.

Add the ornament hook or some ribbon and there ya go!
